Tavrida Electric opened the new plant in Russian Federation 

On June 19, 2008 the General Director of the Industrial Group Tavrida Electric, Dr. Alexey Chaly, held a formal ceremony opening the new plant in Yoshkar-Ola.

In 2007, the world largest plant was established in Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El Republic, Russia. It can manufacture switching modules with a projected capacity of 50 000 sets a year. This will satisfy the growing needs of the Russian market. In 2009 the manufacturing of reclosers is foreseen.

Leonid Markelov, The President of Mari El Republic:

The new plant is one of the major achievements of the capital investment to the economical development of the republic.It is a very profitable and important project for the whole Mari El and we invite the IG Tavrida Electric to open the new workshops and to set up the new workplaces. We are proud of the fact that in four years Mari El from the State subsidized has become greatly potential.

Dr. Alexey Chaly:
Now we have finished the large industrial project. This day is very significant for Republic because the Mari El plant is the largest manufacturing of switchgears in the world. The Indoor Switchgear Module is used in power industry for more than ten years and is an undisputed leader in its sphere. None of our business rivals has achieved such a magnificent result in vacuum switchgear development yet.

The launching of the plant in Mari El is one more step on the way of preservation of Tavrida’s leadership in Russia.

The ceremony ended with symbolical transplanting of pines in front of the plant building.
